What material can this be used with?
Almost any. Like all Fittes floor vents, this model is compatible with tile, hardwood, carpet, vinyl, laminate, cork, and more. For Luxe+ models, the surface material must be between ⅛” and ⅞” thick.

My floor is already installed. Can I use this product?
Yes! This DIY-friendly, drop-in floor vent can be easily installed on existing surfaces. All you need is a piece of surface material to place inside the inner tray.

Will this product work with my HVAC system?
This Luxe+ floor vent is airflow tested and designed to work with most standard systems, but it’s always a good idea to consult your HVAC specialist to ensure that this product is right for yours. 

Framed or Flush? What's the difference between the Framed Floor Vent [Luxe+] and the Flush Floor Vent [Luxe+]?
This is the Framed model, with a thin rim that sits on the surface, creating a visible border and allowing for an easy, DIY-friendly drop-in installation. In comparison, the Flush model sits level with the floor, but must be mounted at the subfloor level, before installing the surface material.

What's the difference between the Framed Floor Vent [Lite], the Framed Floor Vent [Luxe], and the Framed Floor Vent [Luxe+]?
The Lite model is made from durable ABS plastic. It holds up to 300 lb and is ideal for high-traffic areas. The Flush Floor Vent [Lite] has built-in airflow control, while the Framed Floor Vent [Lite] does not (though you can purchase Lite Dampers separately if needed).The Luxe model is made from powder-coated galvanneal steel, and has built-in dampers for airflow control. This Luxe+ model is a double-channeled floor vent for those who want a little extra “oomph”. It has all the features of the Framed Floor Vent [Luxe] and is also equipped with an extra air channel that allows for up to 100% increased airflow, making it a high-performance floor vent.

Can I use this vent on floors, walls, and ceilings?
This high-performance air vent for floors is designed for heavy materials like tile and wood. It works on floors, and walls that are tiled or wood panelled, but is not compatible with drywall and would not work on ceilings. For drywall and ceiling application, use the Flush Wall Vent [Lite] or Flush Wall Vent [Luxe].

When you say easy to install, just how easy is it?
This is the Framed model — installation is simple and requires minimal tools. Just cut a piece of your flooring material, glue it onto the vent’s inner tray, and screw it in. In comparison, the Flush model needs to be professionally mounted at the subfloor level, before installing the surface material. Do you make custom sizes or colors?
No, we don’t offer custom sizes or colors. However, we do have a wide range of sizes available, and you can customize Fittes vents with a leftover piece of surface material — simply cut and glue the material onto the inner tray for a minimalist floor vent that blends right into the floor. You can also paint our powder-coated steel vents any colour you like! We recommend applying a primer before painting for the best results.
